Inez Capurro, age 100, of Lodi, California, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in Lodi from complications of a stroke. She was born in Stockton, California, on December 29, 1912, to her parents John and Theresa (Aste) Solari.
She attended Stockton schools and graduated from Stockton High School in 1931. She also attended the College of Commerce in Stockton. Inez married Peter Capurro in 1933, and they made their permanent home in Stockton. She was a homemaker and was very devoted to her family, giving extra care to relatives for many years at their residence. The family and others will remember her for the careful detail she put into various homemaking projects, which included cooking, sewing and preparation of family gifts. In recent years, she resided at Arbor Place in Lodi.
Survivors include daughter, Lorene (Bull) Hoff; granddaughter, Jenanne Bull Faust, and grandson-in-law Robert A. Faust, all of Lodi. Other survivors include nieces, Marlene (Gary) Morris and Carole Scott; sister-in-law, Mary Capurro, all of Stockton, as well as several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Capurro in 1992; sister, Daisy Arata in 2001; sons-in-law, Layton B. Bull in 1998 and Helmuth E. Hoff, M.D. in 2006.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Hospice of San Joaquin, Stockton; Fairmont Rehabilitation, Lodi; St. Joseph's Hospital, Stockton; Arbor Place, Lodi; and Joseph Gayagoy, M.D. for the care Inez received in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church, 1663 E. Main St., Stockton, on Tuesday, May 14, at 10 a.m. Visitation is at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N.
