Irene Eleanor Edwards(1941-2013)

Irene was born in Sacramento, California to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Landucci on March 28, 1914. She was one of six children in the family growing up in the Delta Islands region. Her parents immigrated from Italy in 1906 and began farming in the region. In the 1920's, the family moved to Stockton settling on twenty acres east of town. Irene graduated from Linden High School and worked in the fields, canneries and packing sheds while growing up. Irene then worked at Turner Hardware in Stockton for some years as a book keeper. Irene then was employed by the San Joaquin County Office of Public Works for 23 years prior to her retirement.
Irene enjoyed spending time with her family having the opportunity to watch her grandson and great grand children grow. Irene was a wonderful cook as no one can cook like grandma, loved gardening, attending dances with her sisters and playing cards with friends and family. Irene provided her family with unconditional love and support and would always place others before herself. Irene will be deeply missed by her family.
