John Edward Heine, age 70, passed away on November 28, 2012 in San Jose, CA after a long illness. John was born in French Camp, CA on October 5, 1942. He graduated from Lodi High School in 1960 and attended Foothill College in Mountain View. He graduated from Stockton College in 1963 and Sacramento State College in 1965. John worked for Sacramento County as a Social Worker and later as a Probation Officer from which he retired. After his retirement, he resided in Redding, CA.
John loved the outdoors and fishing. He was very athletic and participated in track and field, (including shot-put), football, and basketball in high school and college. John had many passions in life including coin and stamp collecting, watching classic movies, target shooting, volunteering for the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, cooking, and writing stories. He had a clever mind and a keen sense of humor. John will be greatly missed by his family who loved him so much.
John is preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Geraldine Heine. He is survived by his son Matt Heine and his siblings Ron Heine, Gerald Heine, Chet Heine, Marilyn Heine, and Debra Heine.
A private memorial is planned. Interment is at the Chapel of Flowers in Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA.
