Manuel Borges or "Manny" as his friends called him, passed away at the age of 83 on July 14, 2013. Manny was born in Manteca, California to Manuel and Palmira Borges May 26, 1930.
In his early years, Manny worked as a truck driver for Mayland Van and Storage and in his later years was well known as a bartender at Chets Italian Restaurant and Bar.
His favorite pastimes were his trips to the local casinos joined by close friends. He would recall how busy and exciting those places were. You could watch his face light up. Manny also enjoyed his yearly garden with tomatoes and peppers being his favorite. He was proud to share his harvest with family and friends. Those were some of his fondest memories.

He will be dearly missed by his 2 sons; Daniel Borges of Stockton and David Borges of Martinez, grandchildren; Carrie Fletcher and Brandon Borges of Stockton and Daniel Shea of Valley Springs, great grandson Taylor Pittman-Borges of Stockton, nephew Randy Borges of Stockton and close friend May Wood of Lodi. Manny was preceded in death by his parents Palmira and Manuel Borges of the Azores, his loving wife Betty Rene Borges, brother Elmer Borges and sister-in-law Pat Borges. The family would like to give a special thanks to his friends and the staff at Arbor Place.
