Margaret Haymond(1919-2012)

Margaret graduated from the University of the Pacific where she was an original founding member of the Zetagathean Club which later became Zeta Phi Sorority. She worked for 30 plus years as Office Manager of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Office in Stockton and was a lifelong member of the United Congregational Christian Church where she was Council Secretary for many years. Besides being an avid reader and gardener, Margaret loved fishing, needlepoint, crosswords, scrabble and dogs. She was a fan of basketball, tennis and football. She was predeceased by her parents – Velma and Raymond Colvin, her sister – Evelyn Haymond Coker, and niece – Joanne Coker Skagerberg. Margaret is survived by her sister, Betty Jean Boone of Walnut Creek, her niece and nephews, Marilyn Coker Federico of Lodi, Tim Boone of Benicia, David Boone of Concord and Vic Federico of Lodi as well as numerous grand nieces and nephews and devoted friend, Kaye Frick of Fresno. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11:00 at the United Congregational Christian Church, 701 S. Hutchins St., Lodi. The family wishes to thank the staff of River Fountains of Lodi for the compassionate care Margaret received during the time she resided there.
