Ralph Arthur Burlington(1923-2013)

Woodbridge resident Ralph A. Burlington died Sept. 20th at his home. He was 89 years old and a life long resident of San Joaquin County. Mr. Burlington was born in Lodi, CA, to Earl and Jennie Burlington. He graduated from Lodi High School in 1941. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II, 1942 to 1946. Mr. Burlington was co-owner of San Joaquin Sulphur from 1957-1985. He served on the board of directors at Farmers and Merchants Bank for many years. He was a member of St. Anne's Church and graduated from St. Anne's school in 1937. Mr. Burlington was active in the Rotary Club and The Odd Fellows. Mr. Burlington was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Earl Burlington Jr., and wives Frances A. Burlington, and Muriel Burlington. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Burlington of Woodbridge; his children and spouses, Susan D. Gibson of Twain Harte, Joan and Steven Tomley of Soulsbyville, Mimi and Steven Cerchio of Holmes Beach, FL, Greg Hoggatt of Palm Springs, Jackie and Mike Schubert of Port Angeles, WA, and Susan Wyckoff of Seattle, WA; his brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Norma Burlington, Billy Graffigna, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members; his grandchildren Jenny Haire, Kevin Tomley, Andrew Cerchio, Katie Cerchio, Christy Wyckoff, Ashley Folkestad, Lauren Wyckoff, Catherine Wyckoff; and great-grandchildren Andrea Haire, Keith Haire, Bella Tomley, Sailor Tomley and Autumn Tomley.
Ralph Burlington was a kind and loving man to all that were fortunate enough to know him. He set a high standard for decency and generosity that inspires those who survive him.
A memorial mass will be held Monday, September 30th, 2013 11am at St. Anne's Church, Lodi, CA. A reception will be held at Price and Joretta Burlington's following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Anne's Community Plaza Project in Honor of Ralph Burlington.
