Salvador Garcia, Sr. passed away on June 13, 2013, at the age of 71. He was born on September 26, 1941, in Mission, Texas to his loving parents Macario and Luz Garcia. He attended Sharyland High School, and then came to Lodi in 1959 where he met his first wife, Mercy Zuniga, and had five children. Later in life, he married Valerie Rodriguez. Salvador worked for Simplot Soilbuilders, and then John Taylor Fertilizer until his retirement. He loved walking his dog, Chiquito, bike riding, spending time with his family and friends; he loved his "lowriders" and was a die hard Cowboys fan. He will be missed by all who loved him dearly.
Salvador is survived by his wife, Valerie, children, Ricardo and Adreanna, former wife, Mercy Garcia, sons, Kenneth (Rene) Garcia, Salvador (Michele) Garcia, daughters, Kelly Cabrera and Celina (Sergio) Valenzuela, grandchildren, Valerie, Kenny, Jr., Samantha, Christian, Jennifer, Margaret, Julia, Gino, Antonio, Kirstyn, Niko, Sergio, Jr., Lauren, and Maria, five great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. He is also survived by his brother, Juan Garcia of Mission, TX, sisters, Aurora Rodriguez of McAllen, TX, and Connie Pedraza of Lodi, CA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Macario and Luz Garcia, son, Salvador Z. Garcia (who is now in his daddy's arms), and his siblings, Jesus, Guadalupe, Juanita, Tomas, Eva, Julia, Art, and Elida.
Friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, June 19, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary to be said at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church with committal to follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
