Steve Istvan Pasinsky, of Lodi, a man of great humor with an infectious smile, passed peacefully at the age of 88 on Thursday, June 20, 2013 in Stockton, CA. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Pasinsky, children Suzanna Hartstrom and Les Pasinsky. He has eight grandchildren: Sean Pasinsky, Cherie Sandoval, Cindi Patterson, Christine Pasinsky, Katie Pasinsky, Jennika Pasinsky, Elliott Pasinsky and Steven Pasinsky III and one great-grandson Aiden Pasinsky. His son, Steve Pasinsky Jr., precedes him in death.
Steve was born in Fadd, Hungary, April 30, 1925 where he escaped the Communist Regime during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution with his wife and two children. They then endured 10 months in a refugee camp before immigrating to New York. The family soon moved to Stockton where their third child was born. Steve secured a job as a machinist for Westinghouse Marine Division in Sunnyvale, CA where he retired after 30 years and in 1990 moved to Lodi.
He was an avid angler, wine maker and proud 4th degree Knights of Columbus member. He loved playing cards, gardening and cooking authentic Hungarian dishes for friends and family. His presence will be greatly missed but his family and friends will always lovingly cherish his memory.
