Steven Wayne Heinz, age 64, passed away on May 7, 2013, at his home in Seaside, Oregon. He was born in Lodi, California on May 18, 1948. Steven served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Medic at an aid station in Quang Tri, Vietnam. He served from 1969-71 and received two Bronze Stars
. Mr. Heinz was a manager at the Diamond Walnut Growers Receiving Plant in Linden, CA and a maintenance mechanic for General Services in Trinity County, CA. He is survived by his beloved wife, soul mate, and best friend: Nancy L. Heinz; daughters: Debra Bobette Heinz Coleman (Jeffrey) of Grain Valley, MO and Kimberly Michelle Heinz Venhuizen (Ryan) of Woodbridge; step daughter: Bonnie Maureen O'Brien Boone (Richard) of Rocklin, CA; step sons: Daniel John O'Brien (Mika) of Kamakura, Japan and James Kelly O'Brien (Heather) of Ledgewood, NJ; daughter-in-law: Chiyo Watanabe O'Brien; grandchildren: Ashlee, David, Joey, Abbielynn, Brookelynn, Colton, Kelsey, Michael, Nathan, Alexis, Jenna, Alaina, Evan, Maggie, Vincent, Miyuki, Shannon, Sean, Amber, Andres, and Matthew; siblings: Donna Lorraine Chandler and Rick Lehr, both of Lodi; mother: Phyllis Lehr of Lodi; step mother: Grace Ask Heinz of Lodi; and aunts: Alice Jolly of Lodi and Dorothy Heinz of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his father: Albert Elmer Heinz, mother: Margaret Carol Morgan Heinz, son: Jason Wayne Heinz, and step daughter: Colleen Tracy O'Brien Carranco. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 13, at 3 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park. There is no visitation. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
