We just learned the sad news of David's passing. We met Doggie at Giants fantasy camp in the early 90's. It has been a few years since we've seen him but thought of him often. And, when we did it put smiles on our faces and brought many good memories. He was a good team mate and just a good guy. Our condolences to his wife and family.

I met David in high school in Sacramento. We were in gym class together and he came up to me and said, "I hear you play the bass. Our band is looking for a bass player. Are you interested?" That exchange, in 1967, began nearly 50 years of a relationship in which we shared music, girlfriends (I married his), baseball (Giants fans), family (he was like another brother in my house and we often hung out at his, probably driving his folks and brother Bob crazy) - and, mostly, an enduring friendship. We hung out with Bobby, Tom, Lou, and my brother Gary - playing all around Sacramento and the gold country in that high school band; we went camping at "the spot"; played 2-on-2 basketball on his driveway in Lodi; we watched each other's' children grow up (so many birthday parties!); we watched each of us move from our first marriages and find new loves. So many memories: from scrounging a quarter to put gas in the "Cowmobile" (he won it in a contest in high school) to Death Valley for cousin Don's birthday to crusing to Candlestick for a Giants game, the Dogman was always larger than life, with a tall tale to tell and an easy laugh, often at his own expense. The world will be diminished without him in it. Rest in Peace, my brother.

I will forever miss my younger brother. David was a unique individual and one of a kind. Some things you may not have known about David. Raised from a young age in Okinawa, David always had Sumiko to clean his room, dress him, make him pancakes and other snacks. When we got Arizona and he was about four, Mom told him to clean his room. He thrust out his little chin, and said, Let the maid do it!! He was devestated when told we no longer had a maid. In Germany, David entered Little League although at age 11 he was about 6'3 and weighed over 200 lbs. He held the Little League record for home runs at 13 in one year. An avid base ball player, he never lost his interest nor love of his Giants and made several trips to Arizona for the Giants Fantasy Camps where he was on a first name basis with the likes of Willie Mayes and other Giants of the game. I have eeven been stopped by people who see the name Denham and ask, "are you the Dogmans brother??" That I was. David also loved music, having developed as a drummer in a small rock and roll band that played many events throught out the Sierra foothill towns. Although, his band practice in our garage actually did once get him hauled to Juvenile Hall for distubing the peace.
He did love Lodi and raising his two daughters in that small town was a joy to him. Although he probably could have moved up in the At&T organization, he just would not leave the town.
After he did retire, he and Debbie traveled to Gold Beach Ore, a town he had visited many times during his rock band days and found the home of his dreams, on the banks of the Rogue River about five miles up stream from the ocean.
David gave us a wealth of memories and brought joy into our lives and he has left us far too soon, he will be missed and may he rest in peace.
Your brother, Bob
