Shirley Michaeloff Obituary

Shirley Jane Michaeloff of Lodi passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at Lodi Memorial Hospital at the age of 77 surrounded by her family and friends.
Shirley was born September 3, 1934 in McClusky, North Dakota to Albert and Martha Seibel. She worked in the concession stand during the summer months when Lodi was home to the minor league baseball teams of the Cubs, Padres and the Dodgers. In 1977 she and her brother Gerald Seibel, went into business together becoming concessionaires running the food stands at the Lodi Softball Complex, Zupo Field, Lodi Grape and Wine Festival, Rich Thomas's Fantasy Baseball weekend and the City of Lodi's City Picnic. She also worked for many years at Aldee Market and Salisbury Market until she retired in 2006. Over the years her special recipe for "Corn Dogs" had people attending events just to eat one of her delightful crunchy dogs.
Shirley attended and graduated Lodi High School in 1953 and married George Michaeloff in July of 1954 and chose Lodi to raise their family.
Mrs. Michaeloff was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church. She loved collecting antiques and taking short travel adventures with her many friends. She will be best remembered as a loving wife, mother and dear friend to all that knew her.
She is survived by her daughters Dione Beilby of Maui, Hawaii and Andrea Seibel of Ellicott City, Maryland; son-in-law Rod Beilby of Yuba City, grandsons Arron Beilby of Gridley and Blair Beilby of Yuba City; granddaughter Christi Michaeloff of Lodi, Bradley Davies of Lodi; three brothers, Gerald Seibel of Lodi, Arne Seibel of Lodi, Clayton Seibel of Texas; one sister Mavis Barker of Lodi, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, dear fiends and the hundreds of people who will remember her as the "Corn Dog Lady".
She was preceded in death by her son Kevin Michaeloff in 1997, husband George Michaeloff in 2005 and brothers Arley Seibel and Archie Seibel.
Visitation will take place from 2-8 pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, hwy 99 at East Harney Lane in Lodi.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran preschool (701 S Pleasant Ave. Lodi) in her memory.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the many nurses and doctors at Lodi Memorial Hospital that took care of her every need.

I had the pleasure of working with Shirley for 8 yrs. at Salisbury's. She taught me so much and was always there to help out. What a special lady! About a month or so ago she surprised me with a visit. She had just got done making her delicious corn dogs for the Rich Thomas Fantasy Weekend. She said she had thought about me, and knowing how much I loved those corn dogs, decided to bring me some. I've got to say that made my day! That visit meant so much to me. I'll never forget her. God Bless you Shirley. My thoughts and prayers are with Shirley's family.
