Bacile Dee Rae Doyle went home to be with his Savior on August 11, 2014. He was born November 16, 1924 in Wray, Colorado to Ramona and Jimmy Doyle. His childhood was spent in Colorado and Kansas, where he and his mother survived the horrible dust storms of the 1930's and the Great Depression. He attended high school in Garden City, Kansas where he played football and was the star of the senior play, Tom Sawyer. After high school he was drafted into the Army 321st infantry and served in the Asian theatre during WWII. He was proud of his service to his country, earning the Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Asiatic Pacific Service Arrowhead Pacific Theater, and the WWII Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged February 14, 1946. Using the GI Bill, he attended college at the University of Colorado and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering June 7, 1952. While in college, he romanced Rae Kuttler and they married on January 1, 1948. Early in their 24 year marriage they had three children, Patricia, Dennis, Shary, and later Kerry. The family moved from Colorado to California where Bob worked in the 1950's on several construction projects up and down the Central Valley. The family finally settled in Lodi in 1962 when Bob went to work for the City of Lodi as a civil engineer in the public works department. He retired at the age of 62. Divorced from Rae, he married his second wife, Lee Manual November 19, 1984. They were married for 20 years until her passing in 2004.
The Guest Book is expired.
Bob was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he served over the years as a Sunday school teacher, a treasurer, church secretary, and as an usher. He provided rides to church for widows and delivered alter flowers to those who were ill or confined indoors. He volunteered at Loel Center delivering Meals on Wheels. Bob loved watching the Forty-Niner's play football on Sundays. He was also a friend of Bill W. and was active in Bookers.
