Henry James "Hank" Wright Obituary
Hank Wright passed away at his home in Lodi on June 21, 2014 at the age of 86. Born in San Bernardino County on July 12, 1928, he served his country honorably in the US navy for 20 years. His naval service spanned the Korean and Vietnam wars, and included duties as a diver, Shore Patrol, Fireman, aboard the USS Ranger and other vessels. Hank was a fire fighter, and he retired as Chief of the Woodbridge Fire District. His life was one of service to others. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was also a member of SIR, California State Fire Fighters Association, Civitan, Lodi Moose Lodge, and the Lodi and San Joaquin Historical Societies. Hank enjoyed the occasional lunch at the Loel Center in Lodi, swam regularly at Hutchins Street Square, and was a fixture at the Vinewood Dog Park.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Ann Wright. He is survived by his daughters: Cathy Warren, Linda Hiatt, and Nancy Knipper; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1510 W. Century Blvd, Lodi. Interment follows at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi.
