John C. Sanchez, of Lodi, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on January 12, 2014, at the age of 93. He was born in Texas on March 29, 1920, to Tom and Nicholasa (Canales) Sanchez. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and received a Purple Heart. He has lived in this area for 40 years. He worked for Tri-Valley Cannery for 30 years. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mr. Sanchez love the Niners and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Nicholasa Sanchez; his wife, Maria L. Sanchez; his daughter, Annamarina Ruiz Sanchez; and brother, Manuel Sanchez He is survived by his brothers, Domingo Sanchez, of Lodi; Cruz (Della) Sanches of San Luis Obispo; sister, Lupe Gonzalez of North Hollywood; daughter, Stella Gemigniani of Stockton; granddaughter, Angela Tina Ruiz of Lodi; great-grandkids, Isaac Mata, Annamarina Ruiz, and Haylee Mejia-Ruiz; grandson, Munchi (Nati) Ruiz; great-grandkids, Ramon and AnnLisa Ruiz; grandson, Carlo (Tanya) Gemigniani; great-grandkids, Andrew, Marcellina, Carly, Carlo; grandson, J.D. Gemigniani. Friends are invited to visit Tuesday, January 21, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church with committal to follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
