Larry Eugene Jauregui, 63, of Lockeford died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
Larry was born in Sacramento on October 2, 1950 to Ted and Beverlee (Eddy) Jauregui. He grew up in Jackson, graduating from Jackson High School in 1968. He married the love of his life, Rebecca Lynn Carlton, in 1973. They resided in Lodi and Lockeford, where they raised two children, Karen and Jeffrey.
Early in his life, Larry worked as a butcher and general contractor and served in the Air Force Reserve for 6 years. He later worked in the insurance industry for over 35 years and earned his bachelor's degree from St. Mary's College of California in 2004. Most recently, he was a claims adjuster for Allied Insurance.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife Becky; daughter Karen and her husband Warren Snell of Tracy; son Jeffrey and his wife Ellen Gasparovic of Schenectady, NY; mother Beverlee Rosa of Tracy; grandchildren Noah Morales and Evee Snell of Tracy; sisters Sally Gonzales of Stockton and Suzanne Tate of Angels Camp, and brother Ted Jauregui II of Sutter Creek; and many more loving family members and friends. He is predeceased by his father Ted.
An avid outdoorsman, Larry loved camping and hiking with his family all over the Sierra Nevadas. His passion for motorcycles began at age 10 and continued throughout his life. He was an amazing handyman who could seemingly fix and build anything, and often worked on his numerous cars and boats. As a parachute rigger he completed nearly 70 skydive jumps. Shortly before reaching age 60, Larry became a runner, joined the Lodi Running Club, and finished four marathons. His unwavering positive outlook and the inspiration he provided to his family and friends will never be forgotten.
Plans for an informal memorial service and life celebration are pending. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements; please visit www.lodifuneralhome.com for forthcoming details.
