Lloyd Hill passed away at the age of 79 on July 6th in the presence of his family. Lloyd was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. He will be remembered as a man with a big heart who was always willing to help others. He touched the lives of many throughout his career as a teacher in Lodi Unified and San Jose Unified School Districts. |
Lloyd was born on September 23, 1934 in Greenbay, Wisconsin. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy as the Admiral's Guard during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he attended Modesto Junior College. He later was awarded a scholarship to University of the Pacific where he received his Bachelor of Science degree and a teaching credential.
Lloyd was happiest when surrounded with family. Lloyd is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Pat Schneider Hill; son Max G. Hill (Josephine) of Stockton, two daughters, Debra Hill (Daniel Garzon) of San Jose and Tamra Waters of Carmel; Four grandchildren Max L. & KatieAnn Hill of Stockton; Jennifer & Evan Garzon of San Jose and one great grandson, Max T. (Sugar Lumps) Hill. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents George Hill and Evelyn Webster and brothers Hershel & Kenneth Hill. He is survived by his brother Donald Hill of Turlock & sister Joyce Willingham of Greenbay, Wisconsin. He leaves one brother-in-law Chuck Willingham and sisters-in-law Soni Hill & Normella Pimentel of Turlock & Ferdina Rippel of San Jose. He leaves many nieces & nephews.
Lloyd enjoyed gardening, and his yard was his pride and joy. He claimed he had "the most beautiful yard on the circle."
All who knew him will remember him for his kindness, love of family, and his teasing and great sense of humor.
It is with love in our hearts that we say good-bye to our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and wonderful fun-loving friend.
A memorial service will be held at the Donahue Funeral Home, 123 N. School St., Lodi, CA on July 21, 2014 at 1:00pm.
