Lloyd W. Diede passed away March 24, 2014 at the age of 86. He was born April 10, 1927, in North Dakota and was in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was a man who loved challenges and worked in a variety of fields, all at the same time. His first position in Lodi was in accounting for General Mills. As he put down roots in the Lodi community he worked as a Banker, was on the school board and was a volunteer firefighter. He purchased a farmhouse with 30 acres of grapes and helped raise his 5 children there. He ventured into cattle ranching and with the help of his family coordinated all. Additionally, he worked in the Construction & Real Estate Industry in the Modesto & Ceres areas. He was an avid reader, always active in politics and the community. He was a strong Christian and an active member of the Faith Community Church. He was loved and survived by his wife of 6 years, Pat, his 5 children, Wayne Diede (Verna), Marcia Lee (Bob), Steve Diede (Lillian / Bo), Margo Cook (Mark) and Bruce Diede (Tammy), 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Private burial at Cherokee Memorial Park. All are invited to a Memorial Service at 11:00, Friday, March 28, at the Faith Community Church located at 18621 N. Highway 99, Acampo (West Frontage Road). Memorial contributions can be made to the Faith Community Church at PO Box 1495, Lodi CA 95241.
