Robert Bloxham Bast was born December 27, 1949 in Palo Alto, CA. He passed away October, 18, 2013 in Lodi,CA at the age of 63. Robert was an avid Horseman, Horse-shoer and Cowboy. He most recently worked as a winery Cellar Foreman with over 20 years experience in the wine making industry. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, while serving in the Army. He enjoyed black powder shooting and travel, but his true joy came from spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a man who ""never met a stranger"" an enjoyed visiting and talking with everyone he met. He is survived by his mother; Margaret Rowell of Sonoma, Son; Jacob ""Jake""(Kelli) Bast of Deeth, NV., his special lady; Chris Boehme of Lockeford, Ca., brothers; David (Debbie) Bast, Jim (Debbie) Bast, and John (Holly) Bast all of Sonoma, Ca, sister; Barbara McNalley of Monterey, CA.; nephew, James; and nieces, Melissa, Jenna, and Jessi; and his loyal companion, ""Sammie"". A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 275 E. Spain St., Sonoma, CA. There is no visitation and committal is private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project at 4899 Belfort Rd Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL. 32256. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
