William King "Bill" Chase Obituary
William "Bill" King Chase passed away at the age of 90 on June 6, 2014. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to King and Myrtle Chase on November 9, 1923. Bill Chase was a graduate of the second graduating class of the Maine Maritime Academy (1944), where he subsequently became commissioned officer in the United States Navy, also receiving his US Coast Guard license; his daughter, Marjorie followed her father's footsteps in pursuing her US Coast Guard licensing in Kona, HI. Bill owned Chase Chevrolet in Stockton for 50 years, now owned by his son John Chase. Bill was a loving and caring man who enjoyed spending time with his family.
Bill was preceded in death by His Father, King Merrill Chase (born in St. Petersburg, FL) original founder of Chase Chevrolet (1944) and General Motors executive (1930s), his mother, Myrtle Naomi Prall Chase (born Freeport, IL) both of whom were long term residents of Pebble Beach, CA where the family spent much time together; King's brothers Frank Chase and his wife Benora Chase, Edgar and his wife, George Chase and other relatives of Sherman, TX; also his niece Carrie Chase of Arroyo Grande, CA.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Charlotte Chase of Lodi, son John Chase of Stockton, daughter Marjorie M. Chase of Hawaii, grandchildren Ben and Carter Chase, brother Robert A. Chase and his wife Carolyn of Arroyo Grande, CA, nieces Merrill (Chase) Allen of Boxford, Massachusetts, Marjorie (Chase) Arismendi of Stockton, CA nephew William Chase of Lodi and various surviving relatives in Sherman, Texas.
