Alfreda Nadine Thomas Obituary
Christened Alfreda Nadine Thomas, she didn't like "Alfreda" and was known as Nadine from childhood. She was born in Linden, California on a farm with baby chicks and orphaned lambs in the kitchen and buggy rides on Sunday.  Her parents were Will Thomas of a San Joaquin County pioneer family and Frieda Plotz.  She graduated from Linden High and stayed in touch with family, friends and classmates, visiting and trading phone calls, Christmas cards and, recently, emails.  She was a life long member of the Druids.

The love of her life was George.  Married in 1950, Nadine became a city girl. She learned to cook Italian for George and no one had a tidier home.  She worked at the Stagg High snack bar where "Mrs. G" was a surrogate mother.  At an age when others retire, she started a new career as secretary / office manager. For more than 60 years she vacationed at Santa Cruz beach.  She played with children, grand children and great grands on the beach and took them to the boardwalk for the rides.  She liked the roller coaster/Giant Dipper and tried the "Hammer" thrill ride.

She was gentle, patient and attentive with Joanne and Rick.  She cared for generations of sick children and family, took George's mother into their home and nursed George around the clock in his last years.  She did not think of herself as long as someone needed her. At 90, she lived alone, preparing her own meals, and driving.

She was predeceased by her beloved George in 2010, her sister June (Cyril) Cook and brother Bill (Mabel) Thomas. Nadine leaves children Joanne (Clark) Sueyres and Richard (Simona) Giovando; grandchildren Colin (Jaclyn) and Marissa Sueyres, Nicole and Ryan (Kylee) Giovando, Thomas Sueyres and Adrian Rose; great grandchildren Audrey, Abigail, Madison, Athena, Fitzgerald, Colton and Lincoln, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Nadine loved them all.
