Alvin "Al" John Eggers, 88 of Lodi passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. He was born July 25, 1923 in McIntosh, MN. Al met his wife Elsie during WWII while both worked for Greyhound Bus Co. They married in 1946. He worked for 25 years as a warehouseman in the wine industry.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lodi Trailer Club and the Lodi Gem & Mineral Club. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing in his later years and traveling after retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Elsie Eggers of Lodi, daughter, Kathy (Gary) Marquardt of Coalinga, CA, son, Dale (Mary) Eggers of Lodi, five grandchildren David, Chrissy Amy, Alan, Aron and four great grandchildren Nicolas, Jacob, Natalie and Dylan
Funeral services will be held today, Friday, June 16, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park. Viewing will take place from noon to 1:00 in the Evergreen Chapel. Entombment will be private at Sierra View Mausoleum at Cherokee.
