Austin R. Slater, 56, of Galt, died June 18. He was born June 13, 1956 in Canada.
Mr. Slater was a BMW journeyman. He was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He enjoyed restoring muscle cars, riding his Harley, traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Slater, of Galt: daughters, Samantha and Cynthia Jackson, both of Sacramento; sons, David and Mark Jackson, both of Sacramento; father, Morris Slater, of San Francisco; and sister, Lynne Slater, of Greenbrae.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Monique Slater.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, with Father Copsey officating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Ben Salas Funeral Home, with recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 6 p.m.
