Barbara Corene Hiers, 74 of Lodi passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 12, 2012. She was born February 16, 1938 in Hanford, CA and grew-up in Stockton.|
Barbara worked as a beautician for forty-six years and for many years owned the Golden Shears in Lodi. A member of First Baptist Church in Lodi for over fifty-five years she enjoyed acrylic painting, cake decorating and cooking. She always put others before herself, often going to customerís homes or picking them up and bringing them to the salon for their appointments. She would even take food to the nurses while receiving medical treatments. Above all Barbara loved being with her grandchildren and caring for them.
Survivors include her daughter, Eileen (Howard) Webster of White Hall, MD, sons Brian (Edith) Hiers of Stockton and Chris (Janelle) Hiers of Lodi, four grandchildren, Patrick Webster, Alexa Mosqueda and Madison & Jaden Hiers and three great grandchildren Allie, Ava & Jocelyn as well as her sister Winnifred Knight of Idaho, brothers James Denney of Stockton and Talbert "Tal" Denney of Placerville.
Her husband Billy Lee Hiers precedes her in death in 2003 after 39 years of marriage.
A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church 267 N. Mills Ave. Lodi on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11:30 AM. Inurnment will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park.
