Carolyn Sue Cain-Hall of Lodi passed away peacefully on August 3, surrounded by family. After a long courageous battle with Scleroderma. She was born in Sacramento and raised in Lodi. She was preceded in death by her father James Leroy Cain. She is survived by her mother Margie Cain of Lodi. Brothers Jimmy Cain and Jason Cain of Lodi, and Anthony Cain of Modesto. Sisters, Dina Garcia of Modesto and Deeda Cain of Sacramento. Carolyn is also survived by the love of her life Richard (Dick) Twitty of 14 years. And her beloved dogs Baby Girl and Bell, whom she loved more than anything.
She attended Lodi High and graduated in 1981. In her younger days she loved playing competitive softball. Where she played catcher and shortstop. In her later years she enjoyed Bingo and Gambling at Indian Casinos. She was an animal lover and worked at the Pet Set for many years. Helping animals and grooming dogs was her favorite job. She was a huge 49er football fan and San Francisco Giants baseball fan. She loved spending evenings at home with Richard watching the Giants play. She also had the opportunity to see a few Giants games live at AT&T Park. In recent months she found a new love of shopping at local thrift stores. Her hobbies included collecting Coca Cola memorabilia and putting jigsaw puzzles together. Which she proudly decorated her home with completed framed puzzles and Coca Cola treasures.
Carolyn was a very beautiful and kind hearted woman who never had anything bad to say about anybody. She had a strong will to live and a zest for life. In the last four weeks of her life she was given a second chance to have a full quality of life. We all watched in amazement as she lived each day to the fullest never expecting Heaven to come knocking at her door. In the end with all her family at her bedside she was ready and willing to go peacefully and suffer no more. We know she in heaven smiling down on all of us spreading her angel wings, pain free and ready to fly.
A celebration of her life will be held at Century Assembly Church 550 West Century Blvd. Lodi on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held following service at Lodi Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers and to Honor Carolyn's love of animals, donations may be made to Lodi Animal Shelter 1345 W. Kettlemen Ln. Lodi, CA 95242.
