Dale Prohaska Obituary

Dale Clifford Prohaska, 88, a resident of Lodi since 1963 passed away peacefully with family members present on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Dale was born to Mary and Joseph Prohaska on February 11, 1923 in Vancouver, Washington and graduated Battleground High School before enlisting in the United States Navy. While in the Navy he met his wife Doris and married in 1944. As a veteran he took advantage of the GI bill to attend and graduate from Washington State University in 1949 in animal nutrition. Dale was blessed with three children, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. During his working years he worked for several animal feed companies and then he owned the Lodi Montgomery Ward Franchise located on School Street. After retirement in 1987 he volunteered as a Lodi Lake Docent and was President of the Lodi Community Concert Association. He was an active member of Gideon International and Temple Baptist Church. His hobbies were gardening, watercolor painting and RV travel. Dale is survived by his wife Doris; children, Dale Jr., Sandy Conner and Dorana Prohaska; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Louise VanBrocklin, brothers: Glenn and Robert. Please join the family in celebrating Dale's life at a memorial service to be held at the Temple Baptist Church, 801 S. Lower Sacramento Rd., Lodi, CA, with Pastor Perry Kallis officiating. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 11 a.m. There is no visitation and committal is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church Children and Youth Center or Gideon International.
A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared.
