Dorothy E Fields Obituary
Dorothy ("Dottie") E. Fields, 90, of Lockeford, CA passed away September 5, 2018.
Dottie was born October 31, 1927 in Sulphur, OK.  She moved to California in her teens where she met the love of her life Orvil "Huck" Fields.  They immediately married on August 10, 1945, three weeks to the day of meeting one another, and were married for 68 Years.  They had three sons together, Jim, Jack and Joe who went on to give them three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Dottie started her career at a small hamburger stand called Harvey's Giant Hamburgers in San Pablo, CA.  This restaurant would later turn into a popular chain of restaurants called Nation's Giant Hamburgers.  Dottie and Huck went on to successfully own and operate four of these restaurants.  It was her unwavering outgoing, friendly personality that made her so popular and loved in the community.
She enjoyed traveling the country with her husband especially to country-western swing music events.  She loved to listen and he loved to play.  It was a passion they enjoyed together.
They retired to Valley Springs, CA where they enjoyed a rich life with friends and family on their own self-named "Easy Street".
In their 80's, because of health concerns they moved to Lockeford to be closer to their sons.  It was here that she lived out her life.  She is preceded in death by her husband and her son Jack.  She will be dearly missed by her sister Georgia, her sons Jim and Joe, her grandchildren, Jacqueline, Andrew and Alec and her great-grandchildren Jack, Nate and Vivienne.
On Friday, September 14th at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 14165 N Beckman Road, Lodi we will have a Celebration of Life at 10:00am followed by a luncheon at Casa Flores restaurant in Lodi for family and friends.
