Edmund Henry Walth, known to all as Ed or Eddie, 86, passed on March 15, 2013. He was born May 6, 1926 to Fredrick and Margaret Walth of Wishek, North Dakota. Ed married Ruth Heuple November 19, 1950. They lived on his family farm and farmed with his father until they moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota in 1955. There his employment was delivering propane. In 1957, Ed and Ruth moved back to the farm where he helped his father farm for two more years. They then moved to Ashley, North Dakota in 1961. Ed resumed his work delivering propane and repairing appliances. In 1966 they moved to Lodi, California with their six children. Ed was employed by Cal Gas as an appliance repair man until 1988 when he retired. Those who knew Ed, knew him for his story telling, fashion trending (always the color blue) and his personable smile. If Ed could have gathered his family and friends together every day, nothing would have made him happier. Ed lived his faith every day and demonstrated great character to all he encountered. He often was a father figure to more than just his children. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church for almost 50 years, a past president and member of The Dakota Club, member of The Moose Lodge, and a leader and member of both Assorted Nuts Camping Club and Lodi Trailer Club. Ed loved to dance, play games, camp, fish and work at the church. Over the years he was active in the church choir, a church youth group sponsor and served on the church counsel. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Walth; his children Wayne (Joyce), Rodney, Bonita Willhite (Ronald), Courtney (Janice) and Tamara Mark (Rick); 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brothers Ben, Myron, Larry and sister Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Terrance, brothers, Wilbert, Adam and sister, Wilma.
