Frances (Fran) Reilly, 79, of Lodi, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2011, at Vienna Convalescent Home. Born and raised in Fulton, South Dakota, she married Dan Reilly in 1951. They made their home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 1966, the family moved to Lodi, CA, where they continued to raise their three children. In addition to being a homemaker and a beautician by trade, Fran dedicated most of her life to volunteering in the Lodi community. Fran did work a few years at Senior Elementary School. She volunteered as a Pink Lady for the Alicante Branch at Lodi Memorial Hospital for several years. After her husband died, Fran found her passion as a volunteer Partner for the Lodi Police Department. She was a Partner for 17 years. For over 30 years, Fran was an active board member of Hanot Foundation, a residential facility for developmentally disabled adults. Fran volunteered for various organizations such as St. Anne's Catechism classes for the developmentally disabled and the LOEL Center. She was an active member of the Lodi Moose Lodge, where she volunteered for many events for several years. Fran was also an active member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. In 2005, Fran was named the Lodi Outstanding Citizen of the Year and was publicly honored for all her years of volunteerism.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Lily Weber; sister, Gladys Adair; brother, Milo Weber; husband, Dan Reilly; and son, Robert Reilly. She is survived by sisters, Leona Newhouse of Woodburn, Oregon and Esther Olson of Mitchell, South Dakota; daughters, Nancy Reilly and Julie Reilly; numerous nieces and nephews and lovely friends. She will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.
Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, September 15, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 16, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Committal will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hanot Foundation, P.O. Box 950, Lockeford, CA, 95237. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
