George P. Duer Sr. passed away at his home surrounded by his family on August 21, 2012 in Lodi. He was 76 years old. Born in Chicago, IL on January 29, 1936, George served his country honorably in the Army. He worked as a construction superintendent. He moved to Lodi in 1985.
He enjoyed painting, woodcarving, playing golf with his buddies Doug and Jim, and also spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Mary Duer (Mansell) his daughters Kathie Solari (Dennis), Barbara Greaney (Chris); brothers: Rev. Ronald Duer (Phyllis), David Duer (Joann); grandchildren: Kyle Kraft, Keri Solari, Eric Solari Devin Greaney, Michael Greaney Jessica Greaney, daughter-in-law Alicia Duer and many nieces, nephews and cousins
He is preceded in death by his parents Harry K. and Wilhelmine Duer, his son George P. Duer Jr., and brother Harry A. Duer.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at St. Peter Lutheran Church. 2400 Oxford Way (Near Lower Sacramento Rd.) in Lodi. Committal will take place at Cherokee Memorial Park.
