Harold (Hal) Brister passed away February 22, 2014, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Amarillo, Texas to Jacob W. Brister and Violet Maybelle Chadwick on July 7, 1931. He was the youngest of five children. He was preceded in death by a son, Harold; sister, Marie; brother, Edgar; and sister, Edith Reddick. Hal was a successful mechanic who began working on cars at an early age and continued that love though out his career, culminating in Heavy Machinery repair for 14 years as a Cal Trans worker. Hal loved a good joke and was adept at remembering and telling them. He also enjoyed wood working, fishing, and cooking, often sharing his special Beef Jerky with friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Terry, and wife, Bekka; daughters, Jeanette Klutzin and Vicky Turner; sister, Elsie Joy; brother-in-law, Robert Joy; and 14 grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave. Lodi, at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 4th. Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Committal will follow at Stockton Rural Cemetery. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
