Harry Braun Obituary
Harry Braun, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 5, 2018. He was surrounded by loved ones and went peacefully to his heavenly home.
Harry was born in Schorndorf, Germany on September 7, 1955 to Herbert and Emma Braun. The Braun family immigrated to the United States  in January, 1956.
The family settled first in Virginia and then moved to Colorado. In 1965 they moved to California and established Lodi as their permanent home.  Harry attended Lodi schools and graduated from Tokay High School in 1974. In 1975, Harry got his US citizenship.  He was a life-long member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed being among his Christian family.  He was employed at Pacific Coast Producers in maintenance for 36 years and is still in touch with friends and colleagues from his time there.
Harry enjoyed polka music and dancing and going on cruises.  His more than 15 cruises, preferably polka cruises, took him to Jamaica, the Bahamas, the Panama Canal and countless other Caribbean destinations. Hawaii was also a favorite destination.
At the top of his list of travels was a month-long trip though several European countries. He never tired reminiscing about the adventures on that trip.
Among his passions which started in his teenage years were new cars.  Throughout his life he watched his money closely, but when it came to cars he always liked the newest, nicest model and money took second place to having a great ride.
His kindness and generosity toward all will be missed.
Harry is survived by his sister Astrid (John) Gritton, his niece Sabina Cortez, great-nephew John Cortez, Aunt Emilie Braun, and cousin Margitta Greeno.
Predeceased by his loving parents Herbert and Emma Braun and his brother Herman Braun.
Thank you to his many friends, Christian family, Brookdale Senior Living caregivers and all who loved and helped Harry through the last difficult times of his life. He never lost his wonderful spirit and continued being kind and generous through all his struggles.
He will be deeply missed.
