Hazel A Dye passed away in Lodi on June 16, 2013 at the age of 89. Born on April 30, 1924 in Sledge, MS to Elsie and Willie Bowles, her early life was one of hard work – an ethic she embraced her whole life. She moved to California after WWII, and was a long-time resident of the greater Lodi-Acampo Area. She enjoyed quilting, music, and preparing large meals for family activities and get-togethers. She also was an active member of Woodbridge Missionary Baptist Church – serving as Past President of the Women's Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her husband Delbert Dye who passed away in 1991, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Hazel is survived by her children: Wade Dye (Valarie) of Highland, Sue Hendon of Acampo; 5 grandchildren: Danny Hendon (Kari), Greg Hendon (Lois) of Lodi, Bill Hendon of Lodi, Lisa Hendon of Lodi, and Jessica Dye of Highland, 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister Mary Myers of Lodi.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Woodbridge Missionary Baptist Church, 673 Woodbridge Rd. Visitation will take place from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi.
