Jacoba "Coby" Volkert Obituary
Jacoba "Coby" Volkert passed away quietly with her family by her side, Saturday, January 5, 2013 to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born in Hilversum, The Netherlands.
Coby was preceded in death by her parents Jean Louis and Anthonia Boegem, and her loving husband of 54 years, Nicolaas. She is survived by her only son, Leo Volkert, and his wife Ineke whom Coby considered as her own daughter, 3 grandchildren: Franse Mathews (Brock) of Lodi, Nick Volkert (Michelle) of Corvallis, OR, Monique Volkert of Lodi; and 5 great-grandchildren: Anneke, Ellie, & Parker Mathews, and Addison and Ely Volkert.
Coby was a seamstress at the Lodi JC Penny for 18 years, and loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, and traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed square dancing and cooking. She was a member at Vinewood Community Church for over 30 years.
Friends are invited to attend graveside services at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 at E. Harney Lane in Lodi.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Vinewood Community Church Building fund, 1900 W. Vine St., Lodi, CA 95242.
