Janice Lee Bever Travis, 66, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2012, in her home in Lodi, California. She was born March 15, 1946, to Alice Marie Ross Bever and Harold Lynn Bever, Jr. in Seattle, Washington.

She grew up in Washington State and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1956 with her mother Joan. In 1957, she moved with her mother to Coral Gables, Florida, where she graduated from Coral Gables High School in 1964. She attended the University of Florida where she met Robert L. Travis, and they were married on August 21, 1966, in Coral Gables, Florida. After his tour of duty in the Navy, they moved to Sherman, Texas, in September 1969. In March 1976, they moved to Waco, Texas. She graduated from Baylor University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She and their three children moved to Lodi, California, in January 1986. She worked for many years as a school teacher, specializing in bilingual education.
She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Alice Marie Ross Bever, and her brother Harold Lynn Bever III.
She is survived by her mother, Joan Mary Jacobus of Canton, Ohio, her son, Blake Travis of Reston, Virginia, her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Steve Hennagin of North Canton, Ohio, and her daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Jason Tracy of McKinney, Texas. She is also survived by her four granddaughters, Mackenzie and Taylor Hennagin, and Courtney and Caitlyn Tracy. She is also survived by her ex-husband, Robert L. Travis of Carrollton, Texas, and her longtime companion, David Czech of Lodi, California.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
