Lois June Bame, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, 90 of Lodi, passed away October 27. She was born December 25, 1921 in Tooele, Utah to James Robert Smith and Katie Cleveland Myers Smith. After graduating from High School she graduated from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah where she met her husband Paul. They were married November 24, 1944 and celebrated 66 years together. During WW II she worked for the War Department while Paul served in the Army. Moving to Lodi in 1958 with her husband Paul, Lois was a member of First United Methodist Church where she served in the choir, handbells, Volunteers in Mission and United Methodist Women as a District and CA/NV Conference Officer. She was a member of the Stockton Chorale for 43 years where she sang soprano and alto as well as served on the Board of Directors and the Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Edward Bame; daughters, Kathy Baldauf, Judy Peet, Deborah Dominik, Virginia Getchel, Margaret Bame and Paula Bell; her niece Janine Cruce and nephews David & Paul Shade; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by husband Paul Bame; her daughter, Patricia Lynn Bame; grandson, Brian Peet; sisters Helen Smith and Gladys Dale. Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday Nov. 2, at First United Methodist Church, 200 West Oak Street, Lodi, with Pastor Lori Sawdon officiating. Private interment will take place at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi. Visitation will be held Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 E. Industrial Way, Lodi.
