Mamie H. Springer, age 99, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior in Lodi, California on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. She was born on October 18, 1913, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Francis M. and Mary Lulu Newberry. She came to Oakland, CA in 1943, where she worked at various factories, and moved to Antioch, CA in 1948 where she worked at Fiberboard until it closed in 1972. She retired and moved to Lincoln, CA and finally in 1975 moved to Lodi.

Mamie was a member of Temple Baptist Church where for many years she was active in helping in the office and enjoyed quilting with others. She took pride in quilting quilts for every grandchild and great grandchild as long as her health permitted.
Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, T.H. Springer, in 1984, her daughter, Lorene Byron, in 2012, her sisters, Gladys, Pearl, and Belle, and brothers, Sam, Oscar, Elton, Roy, and Marvin. She is survived by her sons: Lee H. (Deliah) Springer from Wheatland, CA and Chuck D. (Jeri) Springer from Galt, CA; 14 grandchildren: Linda, Larry, Patty, Mary, Shelley, Tom, Michael, Leann, Barbara, David, Nikki, Mike, John, and Karol; 20 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; 1 great great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, November 27, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, at 1 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Committal will be private. The family wishes to thank the staff at Lodi Memorial Hospital and extend special thanks for the excellent care the staff at Wine Country has given her for the last 6 years.
