Marilyn (Howen) Brown Obituary
Marilyn was born April 21, 1948, in San Francisco to loving parents, the late Walter E. Howen, M.D. and Geraldine (Dingfield) Howen.  She grew up in Lodi with her four siblings: Lawrence Howen, Patricia (Howen) Fuller, James Howen, and Robert Howen, M.D. She attended Washington Elementary, Needham Junior High and was a 1966 graduate of Lodi High.  In high school, she received numerous academic honors, served as Editor of the Lodi Flame, and played the Sousaphone in the Lodi High Marching Band. She attended Delta College, then U.C. Davis, where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development.  
Marilyn served as a social worker with the County of San Joaquin until 1982, when  she became the office manager and receptionist at Ag Industrial Manufacturing, a company started in 1980 by her husband, Claude, and his partners, Paul and Charles Burkner.  She volunteered as a program leader with the Alpine-Victor 4-H Club, and was a member of the Lodi Chapter of Soroptimist International, serving as President in 2006.
Marilyn passed away July 2, 2018, in Lodi.  She is survived by her husband, Claude Brown; daughter, Mia Brown (Bob Ford); grandson, Clayton Ford; sister, Patricia Fuller (Roger); brothers Lawrence Howen (Pamela), James Howen (Deborah), and Robert Howen, M.D. (Jamie); and many beloved nieces and nephews.  
The Brown family thanks the staff members of Vienna Convalescent Hospital of Lodi, who provided many years of devoted care to Marilyn.  A memorial service will be held Friday, July 13, 10:00 a.m. at the Vineyard Chapel of Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Lodi House," a women and children's shelter.
