Marilyn Olive MacDonald of Lodi went to dwell in the house of the Lord on Friday February 8, 2013 surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born October 31, 1924 in Sanger, California to Oliver F. and Ethel Berlin. She graduated from Stockton High School in 1942. She married her life long love, Gordon MacDonald on March 25, 1945 upon his return serving in Europe in the army air core, in the First Baptist Church in Stockton where they were both members. She and Gordon started a family and moved to Lodi in 1957. Marilyn spent her time raising her four sons with love and a gentle hand and guided them in the way of the Lord. After her fourth son began school, she went to work as a cafeteria cook at Lodi High School, eventually retiring as kitchen supervisor at Heritage Elementary School in Lodi. She and Gordon were active members of Temple Baptist Church for over 50 years. Marilyn was dedicated to the Women's Missionary Society at Temple Baptist Church for most of that time. After retirement, she and Gordon would take off with their travel trailer for months at a time and roam the United States. Marilyn is survived by her four sons: Wayne (wife Donna) of Stockton, Neal (wife Sandi) of Stockton, Dean (wife Julie) of Woodbridge, and Scott (wife Tracy) of Elk Grove, and sister Beverly Klinger of Lodi. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Marilyn is preceded in death by husband Gordon and daughter-in-law Lynnette MacDonald. Arrangements entrusted to Rocha's Mortuary. A private grave side service will be held at Lodi Memorial Cemetery, Pastor Perry Kallis officiating. It is the wish of Marilyn and her family that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Temple Baptist Church, 801 Lower Sacramento Rd., Lodi, CA 95242.
