"Alvena" was born in Fox, Arkansas on February 11, 1924, to William and Alta Branscum and raised in the area of Mountain View, Arkansas. Alvena also loved taking trips to Carmel for relaxing weekends with her husband, Sam. Alvena became a part of the Lodi Ave Baptist Church in the early fifties and was active in the church and in raising her family up in the church. Alvena's favorite scripture was Psalm 23 and her uplifting hymn was the popular "How Great Thou Art". Alvena resided at the Vienna Nursing Home where she has been well taken care of.
