Ramon Vargas Lopez, of Lockeford, passed away on December 17, 2013, at the age of 87. He was born on March 31, 1926 in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico.
He worked as a police officer in Mexico, and worked in farm labor in Lockeford.
He was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church. He is survived by his children, Irma Elvia Vargas de Palacios, of Mexico, Delia Vargas de Leyva, of Mexico, Sergio Vargas, of Mexico, Maria Teresa Vargas, of Lockeford, Manuel Vargas, of New Mexico, Alma Rosa Vargas Gomez, of Mexico, and Lydia Maldonado, of Acampo; sisters, Manuela Vargas de Martinez and Eloisa Vargas de Escarcega; brothers, Amado Vargas Lopez, Eutiquio Vargas Lopez, and Anastacio Vargas Lopez; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Librada Vargas Gomez, siblings, Eudocia Vargas de Mendoza, Maria Vargas de Alvarez, Carmen Vargas de Alvarez, Petra Vargas de Bencomo, Virginia Vargas Lopez, and Roberto Vargas Lopez.
Friends are invited to visit on Saturday, December 21, from 9am-5pm.
The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Saturday at 4pm at Lodi Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 23, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Lockeford. Committal is private. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
