Richard J. Bonotto passed away January 13, 2013. He was born in Stockton, California on September 13, 1925, to Vincent (Vic) and Virginia Bonotto. The family moved to Lodi in 1926. He attended local schools - St. Anne's and Lodi High. Richard served in the US Army Signal Corps during WWII.  After his discharge, he attended UC Davis and then returned home to farm the family vineyards. He married the love of his life, Gloria Scaletta, on April 18, 1948. She preceded him in death in 2008. They were married almost sixty years. 
Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Farming was his passion. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with his family and dear friends. He was a member of the Elks and the IOOF and served on the board of Lodi Memorial Hospital. 
Richard is survived by his three children: Vince (Pam) Bonotto, Michele Ehlers, and Phil (Barbara) Bonotto; his seven grandchildren: Vince (Simran) Bonotto, Nicholas (Suzanne) Bonotto, Nicole (Luke) Cunnington, Brittany Ehlers, Brett Bonotto, Meredith (Tim) Warnes, and Hannah Bonotto; and three great grandchildren: Sage, Mason and Owen Bonotto and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, John Bonotto, his parents and his sister, Olga Coggiola. 
Friends and family are invited to visit Sunday from 9:00am until 6:00pm and Monday from 8:00 am until 8:00pm at Lodi Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Monday (Jan. 21) at 6:00pm at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday (Jan. 22) at 10:00am at St. Anne's Catholic Church.  Committal will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lodi Memorial Hospital, 975 S. Fairmont Avenue, Lodi, CA 95240, in honor of Richard and Gloria. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
