Robert (Bob) Woods passed away on October 15, 2012 at the age of 89. He was born on April 4, 1923 as a 4th generation Lodian. He grew up on the family dairy, attended Lodi country schools and graduated from Lodi High School in 1942. He bought his first tractor at the age of 16 so he could go into business cultivating and cutting beans. He was drafted into the Army and served in Europe during WWII. He married his high school sweetheart, Eileen Kolb, and they have been happily married for 65 years. Bob and his high school friend Charles Ferdun started Ferdun and Woods Land Leveling and farm machinery business and developed a large portion of the Delta region for farming.

He loved his family and his career was his passion and often said that he never "worked" a day in his life as he enjoyed his business and the challenges that he faced everyday.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Connie Woods, his brother Sam and sisters Margaret Buckmaster and Edith Davis.
He is survived by his wife Eileen, daughters Shelly (Terry) Fischer of Sebastopol, Maryann (Ben) Spradley of Santa Barbara and five grandchildren, Greg, Jared and Justin Fischer of Santa Rosa and Kathryn and Adam Spradley of Santa Barbara.
A private service will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery.
Donahue Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
