On Sunday, 2/17/13, we lost a pillar of our family, Roberto R. Rodriguez. He entered eternity to be with his loving God and Savior on this day. He is walking on streets of gold. A lifetime of longing for heaven and now he has his reward. He is no longer suffering with pain but singing and rejoicing with our Blessed Lord.
Born to Marjil and Antonia Rodriguez in Brownsville, TX on 10/21/27. He was the 3rd child of 7 children, all who have already preceded him to heaven. He was raised in Mexico as a child but returned to Texas at the age of 15 years old. He loved singing, whistling, telling stories of his childhood and jokes, the open country and working in the outdoors, fishing, and yard sales. He would always go to sleep with his stereo on listening to Gospel Rancheras or Nortenias.
He met his wife, Petra Salazar while riding his bike in the country roads in San Benito, Texas where she was working in her father's ranch. They married on 12/23/48. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Petra Salazar Rodriguez.
