Ruth "Maxine" Engelhart went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2012. Maxine was born on January 24, 1922, in Wapello County, Iowa. Maxine and her husband, Francis "Mike", moved from Iowa to Stockton 66 years ago and have lived in the Lodi area for the last 33 years. Maxine worked in the clerical field and retired from San Joaquin County as a statistician. Upon her retirement, she and her husband raised foster children. She loved to go camping, and spent many hours in the kitchen baking and canning. She also enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Lodi Avenue Baptist Church for over 30 years, and was a lifetime member of Hiawatha Council #21, where she received her 50 year pin. Maxine is survived by her son, William "Bill" Engelhart; daughter, Frances "Fran" Ford; son-in-law, Bill Ford, Sr.; grandchildren, Trena Engelhart, Stacey( Patrick) Miller, Dawn Marie (Arron) Rambach, Bill (Lisa) Ford, Jr., and Shauna (John) DalBianco; great-grandchildren, Jeanne Miller, Elliott Miller, Noah Stone, Sophie Rambach, Kimberly Ford, Jeffrey Ford, Taelor Ford, Nicholas DalBianco, Kierstin DalBianco, and Karli DalBianco; three sisters, Thelma Humphrey, Bettie Minor, and Nancy Ancheta; and many nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Mike" Engelhart; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Engelhart; brothers, Warner Franklin, Guy W., Paul, Gerald, Donald, Merel, and Lonnie Franklin; sisters, Elizabeth Jorgensen, Leola Dodge, and Darlene Realon. Friends are invited to visit on Monday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Committal will be private.
