The Rev. Stuart Anderson, retired Episcopal priest, passed away peacefully in Petaluma on January 19, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1929, he was a choir boy at Grace Church in NYC and Eagle Scout. He graduated from Brooklyn College in 1951. Stuart moved to California and received his M.A. in Education and Social Studies from Stanford University in 1952. He then answered the call to go to seminary and earned his M.Div. at CDSP in Berkeley. He was ordained a priest in 1955. He served multiple congregations in Northern California from 1955 until 1996.

In 1959 he married the love of his life, LaRayne Oakes Kingston. They shared 53 wonderful years together. LaRayne died in 2013. He is survived by his five children: Sharon Frost, Kenneth Anderson, Ronald Anderson, Christina Baker and Marcia Yallech as well as seven grandchildren.
