Tomas V. Corralez, (Che) passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at his home in Lodi, California. Tom was born December 29, 1932, to Elena Vargas in Tolleson, Arizona. Tomas served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and until 1961. He married his sweet, beautiful bride, Mary Lou, in 1956 in Yuma, Arizona.
After being injured during military service, he worked as a laborer until his retirement in the early 90's. He bought his first house in 1963, acquired several properties over the years, and managed his properties for more than 40 years until illness took over. He was a hard working man his entire life who took pride in his family and work. Tom loved music. He knew how to play the guitar and accordion and sung Mariachi music for many years. He loved gardening and worked hard in his yard growing beautiful fruit, vegetables, and flowers. Che lived with integrity and expected the same from people. He once found $18,000 in a wallet and returned it to the owners. Tom also loved to fish. He had big dreams of catching a huge striper, but that one always got away.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; son Tomas; grandchildren, Antonio, Nyra, Mary, David, Tomas, and Becky; sisters, Olga and Maria; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; sisters; son, David; daughter, Sylvia; and granddaughter, Nina.
