Vernon Kenwood passed away June 18, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 92. Vern was born in Lodi and spent his entire life here.
Vern served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. He served as a B-17 lower ball turret and tail gunner, also a control tower operator. He was a member of carpenters Local 152, where he was employed as a ship builder, carpenter and cabinet maker. He also taught at Estrellita High School in Galt for 9 years.
Vern enjoyed watching sports especially his two favorite teams the SF 49ers and Sacramento Kings.
Vern is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He is survived by his son Bob Kenwood of Lodi and daughter Sandy Roy of Valley Springs, 3 granddaughters and 2 great granddaughters.
Graveside services will be Monday, June 25th at 11:00 am at Cherokee Memorial Park.
Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arraignments.
