Viola Dollinger passed away on December 21, 2013. She bravely battled cancer the past few months of her life. Vi was 84 years old. She was born in Prairie County, Montana, on October 24, 1929 to Rudolph and Emilia Schmidt. She was the youngest of five children. The Schmidt family moved to Lodi when Vi was quite young. While growing up in Lodi, Vi made many lifelong friends and cherished memories. She married Lloyd Dollinger and had three sons, Doug, Mark and Scott.
The Guest Book is expired.
Through our sadness we remain grateful to God for this remarkable woman who is now in a place of perfect peace and joy, reunited with so many she loved. Vi was a very special person with a deep and devout Christian faith, giving more than receiving. She was a long time member of St. Peter's Luthern Church in Lodi. She especially enjoyed family gatherings, playing bridge and golf. Vi was an avid reader with her trusty dog Roo always close by. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lloyd, eldest son Doug, sister Hertha French, brothers Edwin Schmidt and Oscar Schmidt. She is survived by her sons, Scott and Mark (Jill), grandchildren Jim, Brian and Katie, sister Frieda Costa, nieces Cheryl, Sue, Pat, Carole, Karen, Cindy, Vicky and Shelly, and nephew Bob. She loved us all and our extended families. A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Luthern Church in Lodi, on Monday December 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM. If you wish to honor her memory, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to United Cerebral Palsy or St. Peter's Luthern Church. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
