Zita Alice Colombini passed away on May 4, 2013 in Lodi, California after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on April 20, 1929 to Matteo and Teresa Telomani on a farm east of Stockton. She had five older sisters, Eva Bettina, Delia Barsetti, Letizia Avagliano, Ella Brandt, and Bruna Costamagna. She learned the value of hard work and the art of cooking at a young age, helping at her father's bakery in Lodi. She attended local schools and graduated from Stockton High School in 1947. She went to work for Fuller Brush Company with her sister, Ella. In 1950, she met the love of her life, John Colombini. They married on December 14, 1952 and eventually moved to the Colombini family farm east of Stockton. There she took pride in raising four boys, Jack, Jerry, Jeff and Jay, while helping on the ranch. In later years she especially enjoyed selling produce at various farmers markets where she met many lifelong friends. She loved tending to her large vegetable garden, golfing, bowling, going to Linden Lions Club events with friends and playing pinocle. Later in life, she and John enjoyed visiting with the relatives in Italy and traveling to various places around the world.
