Joanne lost her long battle with cancer.   Joanne had many jobs throughout her life, but the one she cherished most was taking care of her family.  She always said she never met a stranger.  Joanne was loving, friendly, had a great sense of humor, and everyone loved her.
She loved to travel, and she fulfilled her life long dream of going to Sicily where she celebrated her 70th birthday with her son, John, nephew, Michael and many cousins in the village where her grandparents were born.  She also enjoyed going to casinos with son-in-law, Robert, and dear friend, Lucy.
One of Joanne's favorite sayings was that family and friends are like jewels, they make you smile and encourage you every step of the way.  Cherish the time and memories you have shared together all these years
She leaves behind 3 loving children: John (Sandra) Barrett of Powder Springs, GA., Joseph (Laura) Barrett of Plano, TX., and Cheryl (Robert) Lombana of Lodi, CA.  She also leaves 8 loved and adored grandchildren: Katie, Christopher, Michael, Emily, Jessica, Asher, Evan, and Orcellia, and 2 precious great-grandchildren, Emma and Adrian.  She also left behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends from all over the US. Her faithful dog, Mr. Benji, remained with her to the end.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, John, her mother and father, Carrie (Atta) and Charlie Attaldo, her loving sister, Dolores (Attaldo) Woodworth, and her little dog, Fluffy.
